Net metering & export credits
Full-retail net metering (New York). Residential systems up to 25 kW earn 1:1 retail credits that roll over monthly; systems installed after Jan 2022 are grandfathered into net metering for 20 years. Larger or optional systems can use the VDER "Value Stack" tariff.

NY residential average ~26¢/kWh (2025); Rockland/Orange counties near the NY metro average.
What this means for solar
- New York adds a 25% state tax credit (up to $5,000) plus NY-Sun rebates.
- A $1.33/kW/month CBC charge applies to O&R solar customers.
