Net metering & export credits
Distributed Generation (inflow/outflow) — no 1:1 for new customers. Outflow is credited at the supply energy charge + PSCR (e.g., ~$0.15/kWh summer on-peak, ~$0.099 off-peak, ~$0.085 winter on rate RSP, Apr 2025); inflow is billed at full retail. Legacy net metering customers were grandfathered.
Electricity rates
MI residential average ~19¢/kWh (EIA 2024).
What this means for solar
- TOU on-peak is 2–7 pm weekdays.
- Self-consumption and batteries maximize value under the supply-only outflow credit.
