Net metering & export credits
Full-retail net metering (Pennsylvania). Pennsylvania IOUs credit exports at the full retail rate (generation + delivery) for residential systems up to 50 kW. Unused credits carry forward and are cashed out each May 31 at the lower "price to compare" (generation + transmission only).
Electricity rates
PA residential average ~18.4¢/kWh (EIA 2025); PECO all-in rate ~$0.21/kWh.
What this means for solar
- PA SRECs sell separately (~$26/credit in 2025), adding income on top of net metering.
- PECO has offered a $500 solar interconnection rebate; Philadelphia adds a $0.20/W rebate when funded.
