Net metering & export credits
Full-retail net metering (Pennsylvania). Same Pennsylvania rules as PECO: exports credited at full retail for residential systems up to 50 kW, with leftover credits trued up on May 31 at the price-to-compare rate.
Electricity rates
PA residential average ~18.4¢/kWh (EIA 2025); typical PPL residential bill ~$162/month (2025).
What this means for solar
- PPL raised residential rates ~16% in 2025, making each exported kWh more valuable.
- PPL is one of the largest distribution utilities in eastern/central Pennsylvania.
